If you’ve been dreaming of a wedding day filled with red rock views, emotional moments, and just a touch of desert magic, Morgan and Marissa’s Sky Ranch Lodge wedding in Sedona, Arizona is everything you want to see. As a Sedona wedding and elopement photographer, I get to witness so many incredible celebrations—but this one had a glow all its own.

A Romantic Wedding Day on Top of the Red Rocks

Sky Ranch Lodge is one of the most breathtaking wedding venues in Sedona. Perched high above the valley, it offers panoramic views that make you feel like you’re getting married on the edge of the world. Morgan and Marissa chose this mountain-top resort for its sweeping red rock vistas, warm desert light, and intimate, peaceful atmosphere—and it did not disappoint.

Just minutes before their ceremony, a soft rain rolled across the sky. Instead of stress? These two embraced it. The droplets made the red rocks richer, the air cooler, and the ceremony even more meaningful. Rain on your wedding day in Sedona is rare, but when it happens, it creates the most cinematic atmosphere. Their guests held umbrellas, everyone was smiling, and Morgan and Marissa simply soaked in the moment—literally and figuratively.

And then, just as they exchanged vows, the clouds parted and gave us the most beautiful, diffused light. It felt like Sedona was blessing their day.

Joyful Moments, Desert Colors, and the Prettiest Sparkler Exit

The rest of the evening was filled with everything you hope for on a wedding day—belly-laugh moments during speeches, heartfelt first dances, and that golden-hour glow that Sedona is famous for.

As the night wrapped up, Morgan and Marissa celebrated with a sparkler exit surrounded by friends and family. The sparks lit up the desert night, and the joy on their faces made for some of my favorite images of the entire day.

The Next-Day Adventure Session at Merry-Go-Round Rock

One of the best things couples can add to their Sedona wedding experience is a next-day photo shoot, especially if they want iconic red rock portraits without rushing on their wedding day. Morgan and Marissa chose one of Sedona’s most famous and dramatic locations—Merry-Go-Round Rock.

We met at sunset, when the cliffs turn fiery orange and the sky fades into dusty pink. The drive up Schnebly Hill Road is rugged, but once you reach the top, it feels like stepping into another world. These photos have a cinematic, adventurous feel—wind in their hair, cliffs surrounding them, and the entire canyon glowing beneath us.

Their wedding gallery wouldn’t have been complete without this session. It captured the adventurous, playful, deeply-in-love energy that defines them as a couple.
